Wilderness and Remote First Aid
This is a 16 hours class, including two days of in-person learning.
The Wilderness and Remote First Aid program is designed to teach individuals how to use first aid
skills to help in emergency situations where help is delayed. The program is based on the 2010 Boy
Scouts of America (BSA) Wilderness First Aid Curriculum and Doctrine Guidelines.
The Wilderness and Remote First Aid program is appropriate for audiences from youth-serving
organizations as well as adults who participate in outdoor recreational activities or who work in
remote settings where emergency medical services (EMS) response is more than 1 hour away.
The Wilderness and Remote First Aid program emphasizes experiential learning and major portions of
the course are meant to be taught in outdoor settings.
